Dante Cortello is an attorney licensed by the Louisiana Bar and an NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor. Dante grew up in the New Orleans, LA area where he currently resides. He graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL). While attending UL, Dante was a 4-year starter for the Ragin’ Cajun Rugby Team. With the goal of becoming a certified NFL Agent, Dante enrolled in law school and obtained his Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2019. He currently owns and operates Cortello Sports & Entertainment in conjunction with Sports Management Worldwide. Throughout the years, Dante has built an extensive network of resources and contacts in South Louisiana and beyond which will provide clients with a great array of support in achieving their professional and personal goals. From pre-draft training programs to marketing opportunities to legal and financial services, there is no void in the resources available to athletes under Dante’s representation. As an SMWW Agent Advisor, Dante was successfully mentored by Dr. Lynn Lashbrook and Joel Corry, meeting all the requirements of becoming an SMWW Agent Advisor. This includes agent regulations and player association legalities, contract negotiation, endorsements, sponsorships, ethics, collective bargaining agreements, draft preparation, marketing and recruiting. As mentioned above, Dante is now NFLPA Certified to negotiate on behalf of his clients. Dante’s areas of focus are Football, Rugby, and Mixed Martial Arts, though he is tapped into the landscape of all sports in his region. He is currently involved with the rugby community in the New Orleans area and he is eager to help the sport continue its rapid growth in the U.S. Dante also has connections with prominent MMA training facilities in Louisiana. His community volunteer work includes coaching in a sports league for special-needs children and helping feed the homeless with the New Orleans St. Joseph Society.
